Hi Richard,

I use "A Better Finder Rename", which is an AppleScript based software, I mainly use it for batch renaming via a droplet I created and modify as I need. I had make it available from the side panel of OS X window (drag and drop into it). It change the part defaults camera filename as "B94TA" to a shorter name as I want my pictures names keeping readable in ISO 9660 format CD.

I use it to change filename of the 1Ds, but unlike you before C1 processing, as I sometime need to go back to the RAW file for re-processing or check for the settings.

Yes, ABFR is able to change the file name while keeping the original extension.

ABFR is available at: www.publicspace.net/ABetterFinderRename/

BTW, I own my 1Ds for one year now and I already get round 4 of the counter .

Cheers.

Just wondering what people are using for batch re-naming of files? Is there software that can identify which file names are the same, except for the TIFF and JPEG suffix and rename to the same new name, but keeping the original .jpeg and .tiff
