I'm by no means an expert, but getting a CMYK profile e-mailed from the printers and then doing the conversions myself gave a much better result than leaving it to the printers. I also sent RGB 'AIM' prints (i.e. they are printed in a wider gamut than the printers will be able to attain, but it will show them what to 'aim' for). Bear in mind that once the files are converted, the blacks will look lighter on your monitor. Don't try and match to the RGB
files, the pale blacks will be darker when printed.
