I've just done the same thing, my local dealer loaned me the Canon lens to test against my Sigma. I did nothing more scientific than shooing in RAW, both lenses back to back, same view, lens wide open, then f8 then stopped down, then looked at the result in Capture One. The sharpness is pretty obvious, unfortunately. The Sigma was fine looking at Velvia on a lightbox, too! The other thing was light falloff or igniting on the Sigma when wide open, not apparent on the Canon. Steve's comment on flair is true of the Sigma also, but that was apparent before the DSLR. Bugger, more money..... Neill Watson =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
