It's very nice with Galerie too. I expect you'll be much more impressed than by the Epson Archival Matte paper you tried earlier - since that's a apper especailly made for Epson's inks. If you want to see the potential why not contact Jack Lowe and commission him to do a print of one of your pics on his profiled Fotonic/Galerie setup? > > The Ilford site (at least what I can navigate of it) has a few > profiles for their own large IJ printers but I cannot find any > profiles for the desk top printers and 3rd party inks. Printers differ a lot so canned profiles can make a potentially great paper/ink combination look quite disappointing, when working on site I've often tried a profile I made for another printer, just to check basic performance, [since charts need an age to drydown] generally, but it's a waste of time IMO, unless you're really lucky and have an identical machine to the one which was profiled. The custom route is definitely the way to go, if you want to see the best possible results, but, please don't underestimate the need to ascertian ideal printer settings before even thinking of printing charts. Printers differ sufficiently to mean that even ideal media and driver settings change from example to example.
