Hi Folks

I've recently purchased a Kodak SLR/n and been doing some lens / software
tests this morning.
I am very impressed with the Kodak, using Lighphase and H20 cameras on a
regular basis, I can vouch that the Kodak has impressed me a lot. I will
still continue to use the H20 in the studio but for the type of location
shoots where you are on the move the SLR\n will take priority.

I brought two new Nikon lenses, the 35mm f2 and 85mm f2, both have performed
well but at there best with apertures of f4 or 5.6 or smaller, f22 and f16
performed with hardly any chromatic aberration, not so good at their maximum
apertures of f2 and f1.8, still got sharp results but I will remember to
cover myself next time by shooting at a smaller aperture as well, as some
subjects looked 'pants' at the maximum apertures.

Camera raw did a good job of correcting some of the chromatic aberrations
found at the maximum apertures but I found PhotoDesk better at controlling
vignetting due to colour shift towards the edges, I would like to know if
there is anyway of correcting the vignetting in Photodesk, saving the raw
file, them opening up in Camera Raw to complete the process. Also does
anyone know how to do batch processing with these applications?

Looking at the Camera raw tiff next to the PhotoDesk tiff I thought the
PhotoDesk was technically a little better, there was less saturation and the
cloudy sky had more detail, I sure that with a little tweaking in Camera Raw
the 'field can be levelled'.

Comparing the SLR\n with the H20 on a Digiflex in an outdoor situation, the
H20 still wins, but not by much! The H20 wins big time in the studio when
using digital lenses and the excellent Capture One, this is where it rules,
for now?

All the best
