Hi Richard - it can, one has always had the option for setting the global
interpolation method...found under general prefs.

It is just handy that the image size command offers this, while transfrom
does not...Perhaps a menu selection option on the free transform options bar
in the next release? Let Adobe know if you want it!!!

If changing the safe 'middle road' bicubic option to another method for some
temporary work, then perhaps remember to set it back again afterwards or
set-up actions for easy access to this preference change etc.

See above.

I would perhaps test with each original if deviating from standard
bicubic...during the beta I noticed some over intensity on the light halo
side of the sharpen in the method when used with some high contrast
originals...but this may not be as much as an issue in the final...I don't
really know.

There are so many ways to resize images...up and down...even blending
together different methods in different areas etc.
