A few days back I posted a request for help concerning colour fringing in Canon RAW files and asking for advice on Canon bodies. Thanks to everyone who so helpfully replied, both on and off list. I'll single out Adam Woolfitt (perhaps unfairly, given that others were also offering aid) for the long and helpful mails that he sent.
My own tests of shooting pics on different bodies and putting the results on screen against the best scan from the same shot on Velvia surprised me, and the 1Ds is the obvious winner (though its separation from the other Canons, even the low-end ones) was not huge. So, the query. I seem to recall that someone mentioned they had bought a UK sourced 1Ds for �4,750 inc VAT recently, but I can't spot the mail in a search of old postings (and haven't turned up one at this sort of price from searches on the web, either). I'm either confusing this with some other newsgroup, or I'm plain incompetent. Has anyone a pet dealer who offers a good price around this area? Thanks for any ideas (off list rather than clogging the bandwidth?).
