It is only a 'dodge' - but there is a way.

Set the size at which you need to compare the effect for the main image in its window and move it to one side or other (or top or bottom) of the screen, then choose the Filter Gallery and choose your effect/s, when you feel you have reached the stage for comparison, move the window to a spare part of the screen and set the same magnification as your untouched image, and view both before and after.
