I've been scouring the rumour sites and even if it does turn up in the
Autumn, I reckon it'll be 2005 till you can get one (any hints to the
contrary gratefully received!). If you have the lenses and want to get
moving I'd say go now ... (of course it does also depend on $$ :-)

Really does depend on what you want out of it...  I made the jump to the 1Ds
earlier this year and have found it an absolute joy to use.

I'm hoping to post a follow up article on my experiences using it in the
