The file size required for slides depends on the film writers resolution.
My own film writer ( A Canadian Imapro ! ) is classed as an 8k resolution unit but the
reality is that's a manufacturers figure covering the whole 5x4" format not 8k per
inch,sadly :-)
So if you know the writing resolution of the film writer you can prepare your files
precisely with the correct amount of unsharp masking which really is needed for film
output,far more so than going to print.
The slides will appear soft by comparison with camera originated items but should give
accurate colour and a smooth mildly grainy appearance.
