HI,
thank God for Mike and Bob bringing a little sanity and sense to the
Digital world. Wot we need is standards......standards that every
photographer, art director, printer and student can recognise and adhere to.
It doesn't matter whether its cmyk, rgb, profiled cameras, raw formats or
whatever....what's important is an output standard that is recognisable by
everybody.
If there could be a generic profile that all bodies would believe in we
would cease strife and have a peaceful....and successful digital world.
Every photographer would produce work to this standard or not be
professionally recognised, and every printer, magazine and client would know
what they were being provided and would have no excuses for shoddy work or
be able to shift blame to the poor smudgers.
It is possible, and if any Body be it AOP or a new DIG could provide it
they would have my total support and membership. As Prodig we must do it if
we are to survive in an increasingly competitive and ignorant world. Let us
set the standards and use the knowledge that Bob, Mike and others involved
in DIG, Prodig and AOP and profiling sytems like Neil and Thomas have shared
with us over the years. Lead on PRODIG, lets have a new standard and adhere
to it!!
