[PRODIG] Photoshop cursor curiosity

Sometimes when using the cloner  or another painting tool the usual 
cursor changes to a cross-hair and I cant find out how to get back the 
cursor which shows the size of the tools brush size.

I know that the cursor turns into a cross-hair when the brush size 
drops to single pixel size. What is happening here is that the cursor 
will not return to showing the size, no matter how large or small I 
make the brush.

Quitting photoshop can fix this, but its obviously a waste of time on 
many occasions.

Any ideas, any clever keyboard combo's which can defeat this?
