Hi Frank, I read your post with interest - this was the situation I was in nearly two years ago; processing the files was taking as long or longer than the shoot itself (shoot for a day, process for a day), then a miracle happened and CaptureOne (now C1) from Phase One arrived on the scene.
When this software first arrived, it was great on the PC and virtually unusable on the Mac: Now through a lot of hard work and much listening to feedback from photographers worldwide, this product is truly excellent on both platforms. The RAW conversions are the best on the market, but most importantly for photographers, the workflow and background processing is incredibly well thought out and makes processing large numbers of files fast and straightforward - I would estimate your 400 files would be about 2hrs work on a desktop machine. Getting into it initially is not so easy, but once you have used it once it is very much like being back in a darkroom with a fast and logical sequence. Mail me off list if you want a hand. Best, Nick. _____________________________ Nick Wilcox-Brown Nick (at) theimageconsultancy.com W: www.theimageconsultancy.com > By far the greatest issue I see with this type of gear is > workflow.
