It seems like I am in a minority here, but I like Capture 4 better than CS although I use them both. On a subjective basis, I prefer the color and I find it a little more intuitive and quicker to use. They have a detailed manual, but you do need to know something about color etc. I use it on a Mac G5, and it is a little buggy in that it periodically crashed, but it boots so fast it really is not that big a deal. It is fast, has a nice batch program, and gives you an enormous amount of control over the color. I only use CS when I want to heavily manipulate the image with layers, blurring, healing tool, etc., but I still process the basic image in Capture 4 first. If you join the D1scussion list, you will find that the Nikon Capture software lead engineer monitors and responds to questions and problems if they are politely put as questions always are on Juergen's list.

PS Oops I miss read C1 as CS. Sorry. However, a number of very competent photographers on the D1scussion list use either C1 or Capture4 with excellent results.
