This thread has no digital imaging content and I am therefore CLOSING THIS THREAD.
HOWEVER - both Shangara and Paul have imparted some good technical information which may be of great interest to listers present or future. I have asked both of them to post this information to the Perodig Annex so that it will be available as a future reference point.
In fact we would like to encourage anyone who has some technical information of any sort that relates to the list, the internet, computers etc which is not within the strict digital imaging field, to post it to the Annex thereby building an ongoing knowledge base.

It does, but I think Bob is using Apple's "Mail", which does not show the sender's email address by default, only their name. However, if you hold the mouse over their name, it becomes highlighted, with a little disclosure triangle on the right. If you click and hold here, the sender's email address will be visible, along with several options, among which are 'copy address to clipboard' and, probably simpler, 'reply to sender'.
