Hello all, firstly an introduction,

My names John Reynolds, and am a still-lifer working in east london, and until recently, working exclusively on 4x5 tran and good old bad old polaroid, needless to say, i've seen the light, and come across to the darkside!!!, with what can only be described as incredible ease. I'd been putting it off largely out of fear of the unknown, the outlay involved, and sheer not broken don't fix it stubbornness, until that is, one of my main clients wanted me to shoot 600 pieces of cut crystal glass in southern ireland over ten days.

I hired a phase one h25 and flex adapter to go on the back of my sinar from Lawrence at Teamwork, had an hour or so instruction the day before and off i went to get the ferry with all the equipment i could carry packed in the back of the van. I bought a 2.0ghz g5 to run it, and a 22 inch lacie monitor, along with a 150mm digitar lens, and a pantone colorvision spyder.

Given that this was the first experience I'd ever had of a digital back, I was half expecting to return from Ireland incredibly frustrated and minus a client.
But everything worked, and worked brilliantly, I don't want to sound like a phase one salesman (I'm not by the way!) but i was completely blown away with both the work-rate that's achievable, and also the outstanding quality of the results. i've since bought an h25 and have not looked back.......

My question is this, having been used to high covering power xl lenses allowing plenty of camera movements for my 4x5 trans i'm now faced with the prospect of tryng to find a wideangle digital lens (about 50mm or so) that has enough covering power for the large chip of the h25, yet still producing acceptably sharp results. I still want to apply movements without encountering fall off. The digital lenses that i've seen seem somewhat limited in this respect, i've seen macro digital lenses with a large image circle at 1:1 but I need a general purpose lens, can anyone currently working with an h25 help me with this?

Many thanks for your time,
John.
