Hmm.... looks like Canon have forgotten how to do basic multiplication

In my book thats a little over 6Mp

Perhaps its just another wind up? Still, look forward to such a camera existing in the not too distant future, but I guess not soon enough to cannibalise 1DII sales.

For those of you looking for a cheaper 'spare' DSLR it might fit the bill:

8.2Mp 22.7x15.1mm sensor, ISO 100-3200, ETTL II, Digic II, 5 FPS, 25 pic
buffer, EF-S 17-85/4-5,6 IS USM lens.

I'd suspect a carefully designed PR 'leak' to build up interest...

I'd be more curious to see what replaces the 1Ds ;-)
