I do agree with nearly everything that you say here Nigel - our experiences are pretty similar I'm sure. However, I must pick you up on the point that our 1290 systems do actually ship with a steel clamp which holds the colour cart in place as we found that with heavy usage, relying on felt pads alone can sometimes be insufficient to prevent chip de-registration problems.
