Somewhere I have a list of Epson parts suppliers, but the main one is
Equinox 01684 290000. The replacement head comes with a new black and colour
cartridge.

I have never fitted a new Epson head, but have once successfully swapped
heads between Epson 740's without adjustment, I must have been lucky. The
service manual states the following adjustments should be undertaken with
their software. Head voltage ID, keying in a 12 digit number that is
supplied with the new head, head angular adjustment (using the small click
adjustable lever on the RH side of the carriage assy) and bi-directional
adjustment. The software runs under Windows 95 or 98. I can email you the
service manual pdf if you want to see what's involved, email me off list if
you want it. I may also have the adjustment software, but I'll need to drop
a few hard disks into a firewire box to find it, but I'm shortly going out
for the day and won't be back until very late.
