Hi All,
With the permission of the List Mum, I post this off-list enquiry.
I have just bought a DVD Recorder (Sony RDR-GX3) with a view to archiving and editing all the VHS tapes from my children's childhood/holidays etc.
The machine is capable of recording in +RW; -RW; and -R in either Video Mode or VR Mode.
Whilst editing is possible using the recorder in VR Mode, my plan was to copy the VHS tapes in entirety, move the DVD contents onto my hard drive and then use proprietry editiing software (e.g. Pinnacle's Studio 9) to edit the contents, before writing the completed version back to a new DVD.
How practical is this and what would be the best software to look at?
Studio 9 is very reasonably priced and would appear to do the job by importing files, provided they are AVI - but I am not sure that that is the format the recorder uses.
As you can see, I am VERY new to this and all help and advice will be gratefully received.
