Photoshop can utilise up to 2 gb of memory the way forward seems to be to
install
2.5 plus gb of memory, that way Ps can zip along flat out and you will still
have enough
to run other resources

Photoshop doesn't run out of memory, the SYSTEM in task manager starts
running at 85% during a print run and Photoshop is only using a small
percentage of RAM, scratch file can be 8 gigs, but it is the printer I am
trying to stop using so much SYSTEM resources. Isn't there some way of
getting the print file spooled so that the system streams to the printer
what it needs bit by bit instead of hogging resources? After all we're not
talking speed with the Epson 2000P, an A3+ goes through at about 35 minutes.
