From my very limited experience of profiling, I would like to recommend Pantones's
profiler Plus software (about 80UKP) - with one important condition.

I have used it to profile my epson 2000p and am getting great results.
However the quality of the scanner you use makes all the difference
to getting good results. I tried an old Umax, and a new cheap Canon -
result lousy profiles, Imacon scanner - result great profiles.
Simple as that.
With minor tweaking I am really happy with the results, can chop
and change paper stock without shelling out for another profile.

Now, if I can only cure the paper loading problems, blocked heads, random magenta lines
and banding......

Printfix scanner utterly useless, even when you get it to track straight,
the resulting profile is useless. I would only use a proper profile from
somebody who knows about said icc profiling.
