Sorry for making you fish out the article on canon's site. I know I didn't make it clear but I've been using RAW files pretty much since I got the camera. Initially I didn't know the full benefits of the format only that something was lost in the compression that JPEG applies. I then found it very handy when I realised I gained more latitude in the exposure. I'm using a PC by the way.
