I managed to insert the Firewire cable from my Mac to my Epson 2450 scanner the wrong way round.
Now I can no longer 'see' the scanner. I have changed cables, tried the USB connection, and tried a different computer with both Firewire and USB, but still nothing. Scanner is not showing up on system profiler, on either computer. I guess I must have burned out something in the scanner, as other firewire items still connect. Any suggestions for repair companies, or should I get a new scanner?
