Some of the facilities listed look awfully like those currently offered by PS CS: I wonder whether there will be a new integrated version of PS that will take advantage of these new OS "Image Units" as Apple calls them.
Or are Apple planning to offer these system based graphic facilities as an alternative to PS?
Whichever way it pans out, the next phase of digital image manipulation software for professional - and amateur - imagers looks like being quite comprehensive, and, er, fast.

It's time for you to start getting excited about Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger) which will be released in 2005.
The OS will offer all sorts of goodies for people that deal with digital images - including stuff like OS-level image manipulation tools that can transform pixels at speeds that you won't believe.
