Kevin FWIW - I went down the iMac route a few years ago, when I was just starting out on the digital path to nirvana. I quickly realised that the limitations imposed by the 'one box' solution. The abilities to add more drives, lots of RAM and dual monitors were so large as to outweigh the initial cost advantages. If I were you, I'd go for a dual 1.8 G5 c/w an Apple 20" monitor. By the time you come to buy, prices will doubtless have come down. I suppose it depends on the demands you will make on your system, but my experience has shown you almost always vastly under-estimate reqs.
