[PRODIG] Projecting digital "slide show"

I photographed a series of modern dance performances with Nikon D100, 
shooting highest resolution jpegs (Adobe 1998). I wish to project 
about 400 "slides" via xvga-quality data projector (1024v768). My 
current plan is to use ibook and iview-media pro, after reducing the 
images to (1024v768), changing them to srgb, increasing the contrast 
slightly, and saving them as picts. Is there a better way to do it to 
get the best projected image (and/or some other consideration I am 
not aware of).
