Dear John, many thanks for your comments and kind words. I really appreciate them.
Now, back on track, the portability is also a good issue, but the Expodisc is limited in size for lenses up to 82mm last time I checked.
Also keep in mind that you can find "altered" White Balance cards precisely to define a cooler or warmer WB on purpose.
Actually, the Pringles cap works quite well, I use one all the time. But the
Expodisc also functions to as a way to take incident exposure readings with
your camera meter, doesn't it?
Steve, this is right, but anyone in ned of incident light meterings would carry at least one such meter, so basically the use for WB is the major benefit of this tool.
If you find that the Chip's cap is ok for your WB, at least keep in mind that those non calibrated, consumer plastic "tools" may suffer color shift/changes in time, so keep munching chips to keep a fresh sample of the plastic thing, and don't complain if the WB eventually suffers some slight changes between shootings.
