I am glad to hear it Bob - I thought that most prodiggers had never used a large format camera!

Hi Dick,

Think you'll find that all of the original DIG group have used large format at some time or other , and some ( most?) have done so extensively , and for more time than it's safe to shake a stick at.

When choosing between 10 x 8 or larger sheet film camera and a digiSLR for an assignment, weight,
ease and speed of use, cost per shot etc. seem more important than "quality"...

Err......can't comment on the work ethics of the entire list , but there is nothing more important than 'quality ' from where I'm standing. Everything else is secondary. Obviously there are different systems for different tasks , but short of where it means losing the shot , we'd never go for ease of use if we can get a better picture with a bit more effort. And cost per shot isn't a concern either , as we're not paying for them ! Time to start a digital charging thread again ? :-)

We're using digital systems because we believe that they leave film way behind in terms of quality , creative resource and suitability for todays production workflows.....oh , and because of the sheer joy of using them . Maybe we should get out more ....

Regards,

Bob Marchant.
