Apologies Ellie for taking a while to get back to you.
In answer, when you export the cache, PS will create 3 files; a metadata
cache file, a thumbnail cache file and a preview cache file - all are very
small, the largest will be the preview cache file.
As an example, on a folder of tiffs totalling 1.93GB, the thumbnail cache is
1.8MB, the metadata cache is 88K and the thumbnail cache is 12K.
You are only caching screen resolutions so the file sizes are small and
don't take up any space at all - comparatively speaking.

When you burn your CD, make sure you burn a copy of all three cache files to
each CD. When you open up your CD and use file browser, you should find that
preview generation is almost instant. No more having to wait an age for file
browser to do it's thing! :)
