Martin, First off I wasn't sure which list to put it in. I am using the invokeFactory function like your saying in my script but that is to create the new object. I think I've got it narrowed down to whenever I try to modify existing content it throws the error. It does not display a traceback, but a plone page saying "You do not have sufficient privileges to view this page. If you believe you are receiving this message in error, please send an e-mail to" I'm still looking for a traceback for the Unauthorized error. I've tried giving the script a proxy roll of Manager and this didn't help either.
Google for "Plone how to debug unauthorized" and there is usually a traceback in the error_log or the event.log.
