Thanks for the tip Martin, I took a shot at creating a content type, but it's still not showing up in the 'Add new' menu.
The only thing I've left out is defining a workflow, am I correct in assuming that this is not necessary for simply getting the content type into the 'Add new' menu? (Sorry if this question does not make sense) Apart from the definition in portal_types, where is the content type hookup most important?
