A most appealing feature:
If the member of the site is also a member of the remote site (with
the same user account and password), he gets matching "published"
contents in the results list (again, if this is allowed by the
remote site's policy).
but PloneRSSSearch is not recognised by my Plone 3.0.2 sites, so I
guess that a product update is timely.
Any volunteers?
Note : The functionnality is already integrated to Plone by the
addition of a customized version of Plone's 'search.pt' template,
but you can also quickly test it by invoking a URL such as :
http://myplonesite/rsssearch?plonesite_url=http://
remoteplonesite&SearchableText=plone
I did try that, without success.
True:
* for public (externally published) content, search results to
anonymous users, it's possible/desirable to have multiple sites
indexed by an external product. Google comes to mind.
However:
* I'm more interested in the the prospect of *enhanced* search
results that reflect the permissions of a *logged-in* Plone user.
Search results from Plone are exceptionally fine, especially with
regard to extended results for logged-in users. To me, it seems ideal
to extend that concept to multiple Plone sites.

+portal%29+subject%3Asearch+subject%
3Amultiple&daterange=0&forum=6741&local=y> etc. -- unless I'm missing
something, the lists seem strangely quiet on this subject. Or maybe
everyone's using PloneRSSSearch with Plone 2.x and I'm the first
person to wish it to work with Plone 3 ;-)
Incidentally, this is not a priority for me at the moment. I'm simply
planning ahead, for a possible minor proliferation of Plone sites.
Best regards
Graham
