Hi,

There was some conversation[1] recently on the Plone Enterprise list re.
etiquette (is this the right term :) to follow when proposing an update
to a product in the collective. I was just wanting to send a message to
the list for feedback in the case where a developer has attempted to
contact the product maintainer a reasonable number of times (see
forwarded messages below) but hasn't had a reply - what to do then? Do
products just stagnate or can they be taken over if the original product
maintainer is longer actively maintaining it? How would I/someone else
get access to the product page on plone.org to update it?

In the first instance, do your work in a branch.

If the maintainer doesn't respond after a reasonable amount of time, I'd say post here and can talk about it.

The code change I propose has been tested in a production environment
(and is still being used successfully on a couple of sites).

Cool. What is it?
