The examples I've seen in the collective don't do this, in fact the collective.portlet.links just used two schema.TextLines one above the other (see: screenshot - http://david.post.alteroo.com/link-portlet_%E2%80%94_Site-20080702-110338 .png). Not a nice UI :(.
