Q1: Was/is there an expectation, written or unwritten, that developers of a product for Plone 3.0 should update the product's listing at <http://plone.org/products/> three times, even if the product is not updated?
That is: changes for versions 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3 of Plone, all of which are distinct from 3.0 within the menu at /products Observation: * false impression that for the current version of Plone, there are very few compatible add-ons, for example <http://plone.org/products?getCategories=themes&getCompatibility=Plone+3.2> only two compatible themes * the reassurance "all products that work with Plone 3.0, 3.1 & 3.2 should also work in Plone 3.3" <http://plone.org/products/plone/releases/3.3> (comparable expressions at pages for /3.1 and /3.2) are proper, but for someone who is (a) new to Plone or (b) evaluating prior to download, simply searching for compatible add-ons can yield a list that's far smaller than the truth — without hint or explanation. Q2: if (now) all pages for products that were compatible with 3.0 and/or 3.1 are updated to maintain their presence in search results for 3.2, then might <http://plone.org/products/search_rss?portal_type=PSCRelease> imply a range of updates for products that are effectively no different from their predecessors? Background: * <http://plone.org/products/plonesoftwarecenter/issues/78> > offer an option for browsing and searching to return > only the most recent version of a product ---- Responses to these questions may prompt an improvement suggestion at <http://plone.org/products/plonesoftwarecenter/issues>.
