I would like to try to make a product doing this:

Use: Family history etc.
Problem: Publish an image, ask for help to determin who is who (lets
say I have an image from 1850 showing 10 people).
Use: Others (family members in this case) know who person a) and c)
is on this image. Could there be a way for them to "comment this"?
Something like googlemaps with markes would be great.
Suggestions?

Maybe it could be "hacked" by using googlemaps this way:
1) Add a folderish type that has an image
2) Have view on this content type: "map_maps"
3) Add locations (hide the field so its only possible to place the
marker with the mouse)
4) Hide the googlemap and use the image from 1) as background-image.
Its rather "ugly", but could it work?
