PloneInvite is a tool for Plone which allows new users to register only if they have been invited by a site member. Members get invitation codes which are used to send invitations to prospective new users by email. This product is now available for Plone 4.

The code for the Plone 4 branch is at http://svn.plone.org/svn/collective/Products.PloneInvite/branches/plone4. To include the product in your site, add [instance] eggs += ... Products.PloneInvite == 2.0a1 to your buildout.cfg. This is an alpha release. Spurred by Andreas and Jon's remarks about automated sanity checking (http://www.zopyx.de/blog/trash-on-pypi and http://jstahl.org/archives/2009/12/29/automated-shame-and-software-maintenance/), i've decided to do a "real" release as soon as Plone 4 has landed. In the meantime, i'm hoping you find this product useful, and i'm hoping for your feedback, and possibly your help in finishing the TODO stuff (i18n most notably).
