Wind technology for the small guy isn't worth it.  I've seen it put in places 
that you can't get
power to cheaply, but for the most part, it isn't worth it.

NYC is experimenting with underwater "wind mills" that act like a windmill 
underwater.  The river
currents are available 24 hours a day and are nearly constant.  I suspect there 
might be a
build-up of silt as the current slows do to the "wind mills", though.

With the commercialization of LED Light bulbs, compact florescent bulbs, LCD 
televisions, and
other electric-saving devices, we'll be needing less electric per house. That 
is unless we have 5
computers on all the time.
