I don't believe so. If they ask and are lied to, I think it stops right
there. Should I be able to sue my auto maker because my kids grabbed my
keys and was able to drive a car under age and without a license? I mean my
vehicle doesn't validate the drivers age. Should it? Certainly not. (BTW,
this didn't really happen, just trying to make a point).
Really if anything, the DA should charge the parents with child
endangerment. My Space has been all over the news about being frequented by
on-line stalkers. I know I absolutely refuse to let my kids use it.
Hi Jim!
MySpace is tech, so [NF] is ok. I have a MySpace page myself. It
automatically lists your age under your name, but of course, anyone can
lie - often the kids do lie about their own age.

I have noticed that traffic to my main site has tripled since I started
using MySpace. I have not found a young doctor to take over my charity
work yet, but I have been chatting it up with a 19 year old pre-med
student who could grow into the idea with a little encouragement, as
well as other conversations with a few little cuties who are in it for
socializing.
I put my own disclaimer at the bottom of my blurb that under 18s should
get their parent's permission to talk to me before they do.
Interesting footnote: I found a lead to some code I wanted to borrow on
one of my 18 year old friends' page. She had it on for the content,
something about "getting crazy drunk", but I liked the programming logic
and I found an open-source version on Freshmeat.
I am tempted to tell her mommy about the "crazy drunk" part, but I
haven't. She would probably finish school at our local college or on her
own wallet! I did post a little scold on her blog, not very sternly,
though. <http://tinyurl.com/geqcd>
Part of me feels that if they can vote and lose their boyfriends in the
war, they should be allowed to drink as long as they don't try to drive
afterwards. Of course, my feeling is not the law.
Regards,
Pete
