Did that. I checked the links on the first two pages (20 results):

Not talking about security problems: 18
Problem in Adobe Acrobat 5: 1
A VBScript virus from 1998: 1

In other words: Unless you use old software, there's not a single page in
the top 20 hits that mentions any javascript security problems with local
file systems. Most web pages just demonstrate that you cannot access the
local file system without getting permission by the user.
