Madigan,

Steve and I have a focus for living life. It comes from Micah 6:8. Do
justly, love mercy, walk humbly with your God.

> Humanists? So they put man on par with God?

No. Spiritual Humanists do not believe in any god. It is an atheistic group.
They do not reject people that believe in God, and we are there even though
we have beliefs in ADDITION to the base beliefs of the organization.

I would rather commune every day with an atheist that is moral than with
someone that is a "magic words" christian that does not think he needs to
act morally because he said words 20 years ago and is forever "saved".

THAT is where I am coming from. In a sense, I think that is where Jesus was
coming from. He hung out with the tax collectors and the prostitutes because
they were REAL instead of hanging out with the religious butt-kissers of his
day. He is my hero. Not some manufactured idea of him, but the image of him
that I have gleaned from reading accounts of what he did and said. He would
not have condemned an atheist for questioning the existence of God. He would
have talked with him. At length.
