Al Gore is a guy with a journalism degree that has been doing what guys with his background tend to do. They dig around and ask questions from guys that know things, and process them so the unwashed masses can understand them. If you had seen the movie you'd know that he is telling first hand information he gathered by going to the north and south poles and the Amazon and elsewhere in the world -- and talking to people in the know about the various regions of the earth. Journalist stuff, IOW. I have a lot of respect for Al Gore. I realize you do not. So be it. But before you decide what it is that he has done perhaps you should find out what he did. IMO, what he did was gather info like any journalist would and present that info in a sort of a news report -- an extremely well sourced news report. I liked the movie, and found it very credible. At the end of the movie there was no pitch for money. Just a series of very practical things each of us can do to reduce our own personal contributions to the problem.
