China and North Korea, with North Korea as proxy, have been gearing up their arms programs because they've been threatened. Since there is zero possibility of American troops being sent to Asia again, what this threat will actually cause is another wmd arms race. This will keep the military and it's arms-merchant contractors fat and happy, on top of already having reamed our economy of hundreds of billions, some say a trillion (to date, it's not over!), for their war in ME. And this is not to mention the Big Oil reaming and all those lives and all that destruction. What's happening now is that our Big Tough Guys, the chickenhawk warriors who so passionately led the charge into the ME, are confronted with an adversary they don't give a hoot about, but who rose to the challenge anyway, and now can't be ignored. They wouldn't send troops, everyone knows that. And since they've already committed our treasury to their cause in the ME, there just isn't another mountain of money to spend on another arms race. So what will they do? The only tool they have is existing Big Gun weapons, so they'll nuclear-saber rattle with North Korea - and we'll get to count the days until we're faced with another Cuba-style nuclear confrontation. Will we be that lucky again? The only way out of this is to take those buttons away, and the only way to do that is for the countries of the world, under the auspices of the UN, to agree to take them away.
