Not sure if it is the same thing, but I was running it in Microsoft Virtual PC 2004.
I downloaded the ISO and then created a new VM machine with 256MB memory. I then started the VM and captured the downloaded ISO to the CD drive, rebooted and then the VM booted from the Live Ubuntu CD.
