I was trying to avoid reinventing the wheel. I'm ALREADY LOSING MONEY OVER THIS DAMN PROJECT AS IT IS...

To recap:

There was ALREADY an object included in the 'framework' I HAVE TO USE for this project. This object combined a text box and small button in a container . One could type a date into the text box or click on the little button to get a calendar. Once could then double-click on a date to select it (returning with the date in the textbox and bound field) or hit <ESC> to cancel the date picker in which case the date was left as it was before the calendar was called.

In the latest VFP9 version of the 'framework' library (which I have NO control over), hitting ESC on the calendar renders the form the object's sitting on UN-KILLABLE.

I didn't want to re-code the damn functionality (BECAUSE I'M ALREADY LOSING MONEY ON THIS DAMN PROJECT AS IT IS -- MY LAST PROJECT!!!) so I asked if anyone knew about a similar object I could use so I wouldn't have to waste any more of my precious time.

Malcolm and Pablo kindly turned me on to a calendar object that looked like it would do the job. It didn't...

As luck would have it, I've wasted over 5 additional hours working this thread, trying to get the "Sweet Potato Software" object working, trying to get the author of the framework to figure out why his object is killing the form returns, etc. etc. How's that for irony...

SO IF ANYONE WONDERS WHY THE HELL I'm retiring for good from programming after 42 years of this shit........
