I wish I could partake in your delusions. The truth is, there comes a
time when the clash of ideas manifests itself in war of the flesh.
Such a time appears to be "most of the time" in this world, including
the present time. The horror our grandparents knew is returning.
You keep inferring that I am delusional. This is one of your customary Machiavellian tactic, but its beginning to wear a little thin. It is the current Administration , and its supporters, that suffer and kind of schizophrenic paranoia with delusions of grandeur. The administrations contagious fear spread like wild fire throughout the US. An enemy that only number about 200 terrorist has been exponential multiplied into a war that engages every country around the globe with military confict in the ME that has consumed entire countries and hundred thousand of lives.

The threat that Al Quade posed should not have been address through military action. It should have been handled through normal police and intelligent channel like the many police departments around the country, CIA, FBI, NSA, and now The Department of Homeland Security. The fear, The Horror, The Horror, The Hate, this has become the real enemy that threaten the American way or life, the US constitution and Bill of Rights which provide US citizens with rights to privacy, free speech, freedom in the practicing of religion, and a Free Press. What would be gained if we wage a successful war on terrorism forever, but loss our American heritage and freedom?

The people who oppose us espouse ideas of hate and repression that
make your theocratic fantasies of Jerry Falwell pale in comparison.
The worst of your neo-con caricature nightmare scenarios are actually
already more than embodied in the mullahs and autocrats in the Middle
East, _for real_, not in the hypothetical threat of some neo-con
egghead---that strange hybrid of former secular utopian, ostensibly
religious modern ivory-tower by-product of the West's obsession with
intellectual synthesis.
If another country had done to the US, what the US has done to the middle east, the US would be filled with a rage/hate towards the occupier. This is human nature. If the US removed her presence from the ME, the motivation provoking the atrocious beheading, IEDs aimed at our troops, suicide boomers, and loss of property, limb, and life from military conflict would be removed, and the hate/fear would begin to subside. The armys of the ME would not dare to wage war against the US on US soil, because they would risk total annilation from a nuclear retaliation. Terrorist, who value our death, more than they value their own life, should be a matter for our police departments around the country, the CIA, NSA, FBI, and department of Homeland Security.

Yet you seem to think we should tolerate and negotiate with the
mullahs, and you fear the paper tiger of your vaunted "religious
righter" types here at home who, frankly, are walking parodies of
western materialism, and far less influential here than the mullahs of
hate are over there. Our so-called "religious" leaders are as
religious as a Hollywood wedding is destined to last. But the mullahs
over there would slit your throat and send your head back to your
parents with glee; while at best a neo-con here would engage you in a
discussion and possibly call you a kook.
The Radical Religious Righters have been corrupted and used by neocons who manipulation them form political votes. The Radical Religious Righters have become dunk with power. They has distorted the teaching of Jesus Christ found in the Holy Bible. The Radical Religious Righters have created a new Jesus in their own image, rather than conforming to the image of Jesus found in the Holy Bible. This is idolatry.

The teaching of the Radical Religious Righters clam that their followers are to be prospered, but Jesus taught that the meek and poor would inherite the earth. Jesus also taugh that to follow him would not prosper anyone, but would be difficult, painful, and could even result in death. The Radical Religious Righters say if a man does not work, he should not be feed, but Jesus taught that we are to feed, cloth, and confort the poor; because, as we do for the poor, we are doing for the father. Jesus never said a word about abortion or gay marriage, but this became the conner stone of the Radical Religious Righters political startagy to win elections and gain more power.

Thinking long and hard about the current state of affairs, I am
somewhat disillusioned that either war or peace are things we mortals
can forge. People are incorrigible. Sort of like global warming: sure,
maybe its happening, based on as much data as we can gather and
analyze (here's a clue: the climate is always changing, and life is
fragile and not exactly something common in the cosmos, though it does
appear to come and go in cycles); but its another thing altogether to
say we understand its cause, let alone its cure, and are but a few
votes shy of a final solution. All our speculation is so much vanity
and "chasing the wind". (This is why I find Bill Arnold so
fascinating: a seemingly endless endurance to chase that windmill.)
"There but for the grace of God go we" is more true than we realize.
We only have one world. We must all share the same air, water, and weather; whether the weather is hot or cold, stromy of peaceful, rainy or dry. There is nothing more important to our life than the planet, so let us be kind to mother earth.

These seemingly obvious things with elusive meaning are part of the
give and take of Life, the ebb and flow of existence. It is pretty
much useless to fight the wave when you are a grain of sand---let us
see what the dawn shall bring. For now, it is time to sleep. Enjoy the
peace while it lasts. Maybe it's real.

Good night, my friend.

Aphoristically yours,

Once a man was walking along a beach. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Off in the distance he could see a person going back and forth between the surf's edge and and the beach. Back and forth this person went. As the man approached he could see that there were hundreds of starfish stranded on the sand as the result of the natural action of the tide.

The man was stuck by the the apparent futility of the task. There were far too many starfish. Many of them were sure to perish. As he approached the person continued the task of picking up starfish one by one and throwing them into the surf.

As he came up to the person he said, "You must be crazy. There are thousands of miles of beach covered with starfish. You can't possibly make a difference." The person looked at the man. He then stooped down and pick up one more starfish and threw it back into the ocean. He turned back to the man and said, "It sure made a difference to that one!"
