And that's exactly where the deceit goes the deepest. The weak-kneed
opposition points to Bush and uses, as here, the vague and nebulous term
"leadership" without hitting the obvious nail on the head.

In a way, I can understand that Washington is run by Big Money because
that's long been the case and not too many people were complaining. As
has been observed, Big Money spent on the military and oil did create
jobs and kept the money circulating in this country. Now, however, the
"soldiers of Israel" leg of the triad has amassed significant power and
now the corruption in Washington isn't just a matter of money being
spent this way instead of that way, but soldiers being sent to kill and
die for another country's benefit, not to mention the staggering cost of
it all - and that what they started is not over.

What should have people upset the most is the deceit of it all, i.e.
that there was a real list of reasons for the invasion versus the fake
list all along. Maybe they truly believed it would be a cheap quickie as
they were told, but now the cost is flying into the stratosphere and
there is no end in sight. Will people start to wake up now, or will they
just blame the fall guy, Bush? If they do, then the housecleaning that
needs to happen in Washington wouldn't happen and instead we'll be
treated to another gang with essentially the same mission but a
different rap, such as "Bush blew it, but WE know how to do it right".
Bear in mind that there is no shortage of "critics" who say that the
problem was the execution, not the mission, when in fact the problem was
the mission.
