In FF go to tools/options/general & click 'check now' That should ensure that FF is your default browser.
That's not it, unfortunately. Firefox says that it IS the default browser.
ps try Thunderbird!!!!
I did, several months ago. As I recall, it annoyed me a lot, though I can't remember why, so I went back to OE.
