Both USB ports stopped working today. "I didn't touch anything."
They always say that.
Any ideas on where to look next? Do USB ports just die like this?
Mine did, an A31p. I suspect it was me, fumbling around in the back with the power plug, that might have shorted something in the internals. USB connectors might light an LED on a connected piece of equipment, but no workie. USB connectors on the docking station didn't work, either, so I suspect I zapped the internal controller chip. Reboot, reset CMOS all that jazz, didn't seem to fix anything. My solution was to buy a PCMCIA controller card: http://radio.weblogs.com/0117767/2005/03/14.html#a1439 -- Ted Roche Ted Roche & Associates, LLC http://www.tedroche.com _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
